What is the purpose of AI?
Transhumanism is an intellectual movement that advocates the enhancement of the human condition, merging us with machines, such as mind uploading, the ability to upload your thoughts, and your memories to a computer, as sci-fi as that sounds. On some levels, it will only be a new bionic eye or arm, but ultimately it’s about the belief that evolution is supposed to bring us to a new body that’s free from disease, disabilities and death. Something only God promises, right? Transhumanism is the natural conclusion of the theory of evolution: that humanity will continue to evolve as it previously has, likely speeding the process through our technological means.
Transhumanism is a violent departure from the idea that man was created in God’s image in Genesis 1:26, instead seeking to make ourselves gods after our own image. Transhumanists believe that scientific reasoning is the key to immortality.
Its a real movement in the world and they believe the human body is a work in progress and that we are evolving to this point where we will reach perfection as humanity, in essence trying to achieve immortality without God. It brings us to ask what does it mean to be human? Its a goal to reach the next level of being human, also called human Plus or humans version 2 or Post human. Part human, part machine.
Transhumanism is the end-game of the very first lie told to mankind:
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die.” Genesis 3:4
Where is God is all of this?
Technology may well play a powerful part in God’s redemptive plan for the human race. One thing is certain: God will wrap up human history and establish His Kingdom exactly as He has promised. Unlike the short-lived kingdom of the Evil One, God’s Kingdom will be everlasting.
