Technology is not evil. They did not invent the car to be a weapon, but it can be one. It was designed to take humans and heavy objects from A to B, but I can drive my car into a crowd of people and kill them. Technology is the same. Its who controls it at the end of the day that matters. AI is going to make the world better in many ways. Prosthetics are going to be groundbreaking. People will walk, hear and see and it will solve very complex issues, even possibly find a cure for cancer and can appear as miracles. Most of AI will only enhance products, services and life, not threaten us. It will replace tasks, not necessarily jobs. But it does get darker….
Self-aware AI refers to when AI systems have a sense of self. Machines with self-awareness understand their own current state, always bringing us to the question of who am I? This type of AI does not yet exist. It’s also called singularity or sentience.
